Member Mondays - Featuring: Sarah Miller!

Meet…Sarah “Smilly” Miller!

All things Cape Harmony!

Q: How did you hear about Cape Harmony?

A: “My sister. She was in the group 2012-13 and I watched her do it and I would visit her and the girls all the time so I was like, I gotta do this.”

Q: Tell me what made you come back for a third summer!

A: “I’m obsessed with Cape Harmony, and for the first two summers, I experienced so much personal growth and thoroughly enjoyed every part of being in a group with other motivated young women, and working together towards joint goals.”

Q: What do you think you’ve gained from being business manager of a professional a cappella group?

A: “Patience, organizational skills, better understanding of group dynamics and the ‘behind the scenes’ of running a business.”

Q: What’s your favorite thing about Cape Harmony?

A: “I love working with a group of passionate women who are my age, and I love feeling like we have a sense of efficacy because the group is small and entirely self-run, giving us the opportunity to really make a difference in the success of the business.”

Q: What’s your favorite CH memory?

A: “I’m a hopeless romantic, so singing at a proposal for one of the alums was like a dream come true.”

More about Sarah!

Q: If you could give yourself one superlative, what would it be?

A: “Most-likely-to-make-a-to-do-list-and-forget-I-ever-made-it”

Q: What TV family sitcom would you like to be a part of?

A: “Modern Family”

Q: If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?

A: “A sea otter, ‘cause I like to fall asleep holding hands (if you don’t believe me, ask Justine McLaughlin)”

Q: Are you more of a hunter or a gatherer?

A: “Not to sound manipulative, but I think I spend the majority of my time gathering to prepare myself to be a better hunter in the future.”

Q: If you could choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what would you be?

A: “1,2 Step. ‘The princess is here!’”

Q: Tell me your best joke.

A: “My life.”

Q: If you were a crayon, what color would you be and why?

A: “I’d be a white crayon…because though sometimes you can’t see what I’m doing to help, at times I can really blend colors together…dude…I don’t know. I hate this question.”

Q: If someone wrote a biography about you, what would the title be?

A: “I Need An Adult. Or Que Sarah Sarah.”

Q: Do you believe in bigfoot?

A: “Not passionately…I’m skeptical.”

Q: What’s the biggest risk you ever took and what did you learn from it?

A: “Transferring schools. I learned to trust my instincts about what will make me happy and what won’t.”
