Member Mondays - Featuring: Lisa Hawkins!

Meet…Lisa "Disney" Hawkins

All things Cape Harmony!

Q: How did you hear about Cape Harmony?

A: “I saw a Facebook ad and I had no plans after I graduated, so I thought, why not?”

Q: What do you think of Cape Harmony so far as a new member?

A: “I think it’s a really awesome environment because, for one I’ve never been in an all female a cappella group before so this is a really new experience for me. I also think its great because it’s summer and we don’t have school, so we can focus solely on a cappella.”

Q: Why did you pick Glitter in the Air by Pink as your solo for the summer?

A: “When Natalie said to pick one top 40, I felt like many top 40 songs are very high energy and are catered towards bright timbre and soprano range. I have a very dark timbre and was having a hard time picking a pop song that had that sort of color, and I thought that 'Glitter in the Air' fit that very well in terms of range and emotional intensity.”

Q: What are you goals for the rest of the summer in CH?

A: I think my goal is to learn as much as I can, cause I’m really passionate about a cappella and want to make a career out of it, and this is a great way to learn about different types of a cappellla and learn about the business of a cappella, too.

Q: As a native of Alaska, what’s been the most surprising thing about life on the Cape?

A: The humidity, but I didn't notice how humid it is until I realized how fast food goes stale, and how slow things dry. I’d never experienced stale cereal before.”

More About Lisa!

Q: What was the last gift you gave someone?

A: "I have a friend who’s obsessed with pizza, and I gave her pizza earrings and pizza socks."

Q: How would your best friend describe you?

A: “I actually texted her, and she said ‘you’re easygoing, fun to be around, and one of the best people to have as a friend once you cracked your shell.’”

Q: If you could be one age forever, what age would you be and why?

A: “21, because you’re old enough to do everything, but you don’t feel old.”

Q: What’s your most embarrassing moment?

A: "Probably, when I was in a theater, and I was in the aisle seat and was trying to get out and I tripped on my own seat and went face first into the aisle. Everyone just looked at me and laughed."

Q: Tell me your ideal date in a haiku.

A: “On a warm, clear night

with some blankets on the beach

watch the sun go down”

Q: How do you like to spend a rainy day?

A: “At home, watching a classic Disney movie…so if it’s raining, guys, feel free to join me for a Disney movie.”

Q: What’s your favorite midnight snack?

A: "Chips, just because they fill you up and are satisfying in terms of flavor."

Q: Would you rather be a giant rodent or a tiny elephant?

A: "Tiny elephant, for sure. That’s like a teacup pig, but better."

Q: If you were president, what’s the first thing you would do?

A: “I’d resign. That seems like a very stressful job. Also, I’m not of legal age to become president.”

Q: If you could go on a road trip with anyone (dead or alive), who would it be and where would you go?

A: "I would go on a roadtrip with Amy Schumer, because she's hilarious and I feel like she would make any sort of situation a great story. And, we'd go to Disney World, obviously.
